- You need to be at least 17 at the start of the course
- You need to be available for the full time six month course beginning end of January or mid July
- You need to have a desire to work with children and the motivation to study and complete assignments at level 3, NZQA Framework
- You need to be a responsible, honest person in good health with good safety awareness and a happy and positive outlook
- It is useful, although not essential, for you to have a full drivers licence
